Avon (OH) DT Lance Dawson Commits to Cincinnati
Cincinnati earned their second commitment from their weekend official visits when Avon (OH) defensive lineman Lance Dawson announced his commitment to the Bearcats.
Dawson's journey is unique in that he did not start playing football until his sophomore season. Following a state championship season at Avon, as well as a strong spring on the camp circuit, Dawson saw his recruitment take off earning 12 Division I offers, including both Cincinnati and Virginia.
At 6'5" 250 pounds, Dawson has the ideal size of a P4 defensive lineman while also possessing the strength, athleticism, and speed to play both inside or outside in Coach Tyson Veidt's defense.
Dawson also competes in Track and Field and Basketball and set a school record in spring of 2025 with a 186-10 personal best in the discus. Also posted a personal best of 46-3 in the shot put.
Cincinnati now has two defensive linemen committed in the 2026 class, including Jeremiah Gray who also officially visited UC June 13th-15th.
