Cincinnati Back in the Top 25
The Cincinnati Bearcats are back in the national spotlight. Following Saturday's 20-11 victory over Central Florida, UC has moved into both the Associated Press and Coaches Top 25 polls. The Bearcats, now 5-1 overall and 3-0 in Big 12 play, return to the rankings for the first time since November 22, 2022, when they were No. 24 in the AP poll and No. 21 in the Coaches poll.

Cincinnati’s success this season has been driven by the Big 12’s highest-rated quarterback, junior Brendan Sorsby. The dynamic signal-caller has been remarkably efficient, throwing for 1,448 yards and 19 touchdowns with just one turnover. Sorsby has completed 99 of 153 pass attempts and added another dimension to the offense with 327 rushing yards on 52 carries.
Anchoring the offense is a dominant line that has earned the Big 12’s Offensive Line of the Week honor three times this season. The unit is led by veteran center Gavin Gerhardt, whose leadership and experience have helped pave the way for Sorsby and the Bearcats' balanced offensive attack.
Defensively, linebacker Jake Golday has emerged as a force in the middle of the field. Golday leads the Big 12 with 9.3 tackles per game, providing a steady presence for a Cincinnati defense that has been stingy during conference play.
With momentum building and a return to the national rankings secured, the Bearcats now turn their attention to a Big 12 road test. Cincinnati will travel to Stillwater this Saturday night to face Oklahoma State (1-5). Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET as the Bearcats look to remain perfect in conference play and continue their climb up the polls.
