Golday Named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week

While Cincinnati had many defensive standouts during their loss to Nebraska, one player who stood out the most was linebacker Jake Golday.

Golday logged 12 tackles and a sack in the season-opening matchup vs. the Cornhuskers, which was played at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. The 12 tackles are his career-high in a Cincinnati uniform and just two off his overall career-high total. His sack in the fourth quarter forced Nebraska into a 3rd-and-long that led to a punt, giving the Bearcats the ball back late in the game.

Golday’s 12 tackles were the most of any Big 12 player that recorded a sack this past weekend.
